Axis Well Technology Ltd has become the first oil and gas company, headquartered in Aberdeen, to be recognised for its commitment to its employees by achieving the Gold Investors in People (IIP) accreditation.
This prestigious award places the company in the top 7% of all IIP accredited businesses in the UK.
The organisation was presented with IIP Gold status by IIP’s chief executive Peter Russian at the firm’s head office in Kettock Lodge recently. This achievement comes shortly after the firm received the Investors in Young People accreditation (IIYP) which was presented by Annabelle Ewing, Scottish Minister for Youth and Women’s Employment in March 2015.
Peter Russian, Chief Executive of Investors in People commented: “Axis Well Technology has excelled with their application and accreditation - we were extremely impressed by their commitment to their workforce in the oil and gas sector. This is a fantastic achievement for them and I offer my heartfelt congratulations to the organisation.”
Investors in People is a management framework which helps businesses reach their potential through their employees and optimise performance by equipping them with outcome driven tailor-made approaches. Organisations that demonstrate IIP standards achieve the accreditation through an honest and critical assessment to determine performance and success. Almost 1,500 organisations in Scotland are working with IIP which provides advisory services to help businesses enhance their performance.
Peter continued: “The Investors in People framework not only recognises and supports organisations in the training and development of people, but marks them out as an employer of choice. IIP provides advisory services that deliver value-led strategic approaches angled towards business objectives. IIP supports the efforts of organisations like Axis Well Technology across the private, public and third sectors, who believe that people are the key to success, by providing advice and guidance, business assessment and advisory services.”
Axis started on the IIP journey early in the company’s history when it achieved entry level IIP status in 2005 and soon set its sights on attaining the Bronze accreditation in 2012. Using the IIP framework, the company continued to push ahead with several new initiatives with the aim of one day achieving Gold accreditation.
Axis is a market leading oil and gas consultancy delivering Well Technology and Reservoir Development consultancy support to their extensive global customer base from offices in Aberdeen and London.
Jim Anderson, CEO of Axis Well Technology said: “We are extremely proud at Axis to have attained this tremendous accolade of Gold Status from IIP, which salutes the total commitment of the company in its approach to how it develops, mentors, communicates and manages it’s fantastic workforce. As a global oil and gas consultancy, people are our most important asset and our aim has always been to be an employer of choice within the industry."
“The IIP framework has been and continues to be a complementary business tool and correlates well with overall business performance, which has helped Axis deliver a great service to our loyal customers.”
