Independent Upstream Company – Field Development Support
Our Client asked us to carry out a full subsurface seismic interpretation and geological and reservoir modelling study of a field offshore Trinidad & Tobago. Our Drilling Engineers and Production Technologists worked in tandem with the Axis Subsurface team to conduct the well and completion design study work to identify the optimum design to meet all the Client’s objectives. The key deliverables for this project were a full FDP document and individual technical reports detailing the various disciplines (Geophysics, Geology, RE, PT, Well Engineering) reviews, conclusions and results.
To achieve this we carried out the following activities:
- Data collection, screening and understanding.
- Carried out seismic interpretation and well tieing.
- Built and interpreted fault model, including sensitivities on uncertainty.
- Carried out depth conversion to static model including sensitivity analysis.
- Reviewed seismic attributes.
- Generated zonation, isochore maps and reservoir properties.
- Calculated deterministic and probabilistic volumetrics.
- Carried out simulation upscaling and grid design.
- Calculated a range of in place volumes.
- Built and initialised simulation model including reservoir fluid description, relative permeability, vertical lift curves, and calibration to pressure and available well performance data.
- Defined base case, including, well placement and development options.
- Generated production forecasts.
- Ran sensitivity analysis.
- Built and ran sensitivity models.
- Base, high and low production profiles.
- Generated production forecasts.
- Reviewed wet/dry tree and selected preferred option.
- Selected drill centres and constructed preliminary wellpaths.
- Developed outline well designs, which included rheology and mud and cement weight requirements.
- Prepared detailed field development documentation for submission to the Ministry of Energy.
As a result of this work, our Client’s field development application was successfully awarded and the field is now on production. We continue to provide specialist support and we are now responsible for all subsurface, production technology, and well and completion design support.
