Intelligent Well Completion Design Select/Define

Our Client was planning a second drilling campaign for a challenging onshore, central African oil development. The initial naturally flowing vertical wells were performing below expectations and the client requested Axis carry out a review to both identify the root cause of this performance and propose alternative completion designs for the upcoming wells.  This Phase 2 development included water injection and the new production wells also needed to accommodate artificial lift.

We provided a specialist production technology and completion design team and provided the client with comprehensive and detailed conceptual designs after completion of the following activities,

Detailed reservoir and well performance review, including,

• Reservoir development strategy
• Production and operations history
• Flow assurance
• Formation damage (primarily fines/sand management)
• Stimulation

Develop Select gate designs for conceptual oil producers and water injectors, including,

• Concept screening

Develop Define gate designs for conceptual oil producers and water injectors, including,

• Upper and lower completion Define
• BoD documentation
• Equipment failure analysis
• Intervention considerations (routine and non-routine)
